Gisele Bündchen who was born in Horizontina on 20 July 1980 is a supermodel and actress from Brazil. She is one of the highest paid models in the world since 2004 and she becomes the 16th richest woman in the entertainment industry in 2007.
In 2012, she was ranked as the first in the list of the most productive top models according to Forbes magazine. She was the 89th Most Powerful Woman in the World by Forbes in 2014.
In the late 1990s, Bündchen was the first woman from Brazil to be successful in the model industry in the international arena. In 1999, Vogue recorded “The Return of the Sexy Model”, and she is credited as one of the pioneers who ended the era of “heroin chic” modeling.
Bündchen is one of the Secret Angels of Victoria, one of the underwear brands from the United States. Her career began in 2000 to mid-2007.
Bündchen also pioneered the movement of “walking horses”, a motion made when the model raised her knee high and kicked her leg forward. In an interview, Claudia Schiffer told Vogue that Bundchen is the only supermodel left.
Bündchen ventured into acting as she played a supporting role in Taxi (2004), where she was nominated at the Teen Choice Awards for the Breakout Performance Film Awards, and for the Bad Guy Options Movie. Bündchen also tried her luck in the acting industry as a supporting role in The Devil Wears Prada in 2006. She is executive producer for environmental education cartoon Gisele & Green Team from 2010 to 2011.

Bündchen dedicates some portion of her website to discussing environmental issues. She also launched a “green” blog in 2008 with the goal of “reflecting on what we can do to about the socio-environmental issues “. In May 2009, she hosted the annual Rainforest Alliance gala to honor leaders who are concerned about environmental sustainability.
Bündchen also supports the movement to address various environmental causes, including clean water initiatives, environmental sustainability, and rainforest conservation in South America.
In 2007 she took part in eBay Giving Works, an eBay program dedicated to online auction a charity list for WWF, with 100% of the proceeds going to the global conservation initiatives of World Wildlife Fund, especially those involved in the fight against climate change in the world.
In 2008, she appeared on the cover of an American magazine to promote her Forests of the Future project for Brazilian Atlantic Forest reforestation. The initiative, which was established with SOS Mata Atlantica in 2004, has planted more than 1 million new trees by the name of Bündchen to start reforestation of rainforests in Brazil.

In May 2011 Bündchen was selected as the Citizen of the Global Environment of Harvard 2011 in recognition of her environmental efforts. In November 2011, she was also awarded the Greenest Celebrity at the International Green 2011 award at the National History Museum of London.
Each year the Green Awards honors a celebrity who has become the most creative and innovative approach to environmental sustainability and Bündchen is the winner, beating Paul McCartney and Miguel Bose.
