Reasons for Mickey Madden being Vegan

Madden has gradually released animal products since he was in high school. At present, he feels it is easy to become vegan especially all band members support his diet. Madden even said that Adam Levine was 85% vegan for health reasons.

He points out that all members of Maroon 5 were very health conscious and all were truly friendly to vegans. All band members are meat eaters, but they understand the principles of veganism and that for him has made a big difference.

In an interview with PETA, bassist Maroon 5 revealed, “I have a common affection for animals and respect for all living things. Having that spark of interest makes me do research, and when you dig a little below the surface, what you find really annoying. This makes veganism seem the only choice. I can’t even imagine eating animal products at all. ”

Mickey Madden is a Supporter of Farm Sanctuary

Madden is very concerned about animal welfare so he also supports the activities of the organization from Farm Sanctuary. Farm Sanctuary is an American animal protection organization, founded in 1986 that aims to defend livestock. This organization is the first refuge for cattle in America. They promote laws and policies that support animal welfare, animal protection, and veganism through salvation, education, and advocacy.

Farm Sanctuary is a vocal supporter of the 2006 Chicago Ordinance that banned the sale of foie gras. Foie gras itself is a goose liver which is a luxury dish that comes from French cuisine. This food is full of controversy because it requires the process of torturing geese.

In 2008, Farm Sanctuary said in an official release that three Westside Markets in the City of New York signed a promise not to sell foie gras, joining more than 50 companies in New York City, 1000 restaurants across the country. The Whole Foods Market and Trader Joe’s grocery chains have also promised not to sell foie gras. The participation of Mickey Madden in supporting the movement of the farm sanctuary is one of the statements of his concern for the environment.
