Five natural attractions in Tomohon that you need to visit. This eastern part of Indonesia holds a million natural things in this fairyland. The city is flanked by two mountains namely Mount Lokon and Mount Mahawu which makes Tomohon looks really beautiful and has a cold climate.

 

This cool climate makes diverse biodiversity grows fertile. The types of flora found are ficus minahassae, nepenthes masarangense, and Schefflera actinophylla, while fauna is bufo celebensis (horned frog).

 

The Sulawesi government has been trying to breed bufo celebensis and for its scarcity that has been planted in the nursery of Yayasan Masarang which will be created a new botanical garden.

Indeed many don’t know the existence of this beautiful lake. The word now comes from the Minahasa language lilinowan, which means the gathering of water.

This lake has beautiful colors and always changing. Color issued include green, blue, until brownish yellow. The lake is flanked by hills and trees are very lush.

This lake only presents the beauty of the outside, because the water contained in the lake still store high sulfur so that anyone is prohibited to swim in this lake.

To get to this lake we can go to the bus station in Tomohon City and choose the destination of Lake Linow, this journey only takes approximately half an hour.

  1. Prayer Hill, Tomohon (Prayer Hill of Tomohon)

There are various kinds of attractions in Tomohon, one of them is a spiritual tourism object called Bukit Doa, Tomohon. Prayer Hill is in the area

The Tetetana peak is located in Kumelembuai. The cool air and the beautiful landscape make us feel like we are in a land of clouds. From the top of the hill lay the vast expanse of the work of the Creator.

From above we can see clearly the sky-blue expand and the clouds surrounding the top of the hill, and the vast sea, the forest with lush trees, rice fields, and vegetable plantations. To get to this place we can go to the bus station in Tomohon City and select the destination Kumelembai and have arrived at the destination less than 30 minutes.

  1. Tumimperas Waterfall, Pinaras

If you are bored with natural beaches, lakes or mountains than you can go visit Tumimperas Waterfall, Piranas Village, South Tumohon. Access roads are not too difficult, we just need to go down the stairs with a distance of 100 meters from the village Pinaras. On arrival at the destination, we will be presented with stunning views from the top of the waterfall that sounds quite roaring water.

The vibes are still very natural, the air is cool, and all around the overgrown shady trees that add to the beautiful atmosphere at this waterfall location.

In addition to tourist attractions, this waterfall is often used for various activities, such as inter-village races, places of worship or retreat, even this place is also often used by the TNI (Indonesian National Army) for war exercises such as climbing and down the waterfall.
