According to the environmental performance index 2016, Finland is the greenest country in the world with the EPI rating: 90.68. Finland is followed by another country which is Iceland, Sweden, Denmark and Slovenia.

The environmental performance index ranks the performance of the countries on environmental issues by looking in the areas: protection of ecosystems and protection of human health. This EPI is created by World Economic Forum and Yale and Columbia universities.

Finland became number one is mostly because of the fact that the country’s societal commitment to achieve a carbon-neutral society that does not exceed nature’s carrying capacity by 2050. This country performed really good in the areas of water and sanitation, health impacts, biodiversity, and habitat. Congratulations, Finland.
